Joshua 24:14-33
Three representations of a person’s status before God.
Commitment: This is a person who is a tremendous Christian. They are dedicated, they live under the authority and leadership of the Holy Ghost and they are doing everything thing they can to draw closer to God.
Compromise: They have basic bible beliefs, they have experienced new life, they have been born again, they say they believe the bible is Gods Holy Word but there is a difference in this chair and the 1st. They are inconsistent, they are unstable, they are double minded, they have one foot in the church and one foot in the world. They don’t have the same commitment level even though they say they do and think they do but their life shows different. The reason they are not sitting in the 1stseat is summed up by one word- compromise.
Conflict: The 3rdchair represents a person who does not confess to be a Christian They are not in a right relationship with God and they do not deny that fact. Often, they will confess that they believe in God but that Jesus is not the only path to salvation.
Joshua 14:8-9 King James Version (KJV) 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.
