(Matthew 1:23) 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

(Exodus 33:11) 11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
God speaks to give guidance.
(Proverbs 3:6 ) 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
God speaks to provide perspective.

The Whispers of God
(1 Kings 19:11-12) 1 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (It was in that still small voice that God spoke to Elijah.)
1. He whispers encouragement.
(Romans 8:16) 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

2. He whispers warnings.
(Acts 16:6-7) 6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
